Pitha Festival 2025

The colorful winter festival titled “Pitha Festival 20255” was successfully organized on February 11, 2025, on the campus premises under the supervision of Student Affairs. The inauguration ceremony of the event commenced at 10:40 a.m. with a ribbon-cutting by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shorif Uddin, Vice Chancellor of GUB. The occasion was graced by several distinguished individuals, including Prof. Dr. Khwaza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed – Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Tareque Aziz – Dean, Faculty of GBS and Law, Captain (Navy) S. M. Salahuddin, NGP, psc, MBA (LPR) – Registrar, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al Mansur – Director, CRIT, Dr. Md. Mehedi Hasan – Proctor, Dr. Mohammad Delwar Hussain – Director, Student Affairs, Mr. Md. Saiful Islam – Joint Registrar (Academic), Mr. Md. Mazharul Islam – Joint Registrar (Admission), Mr. Md. Solaiman Mia – Deputy Director, Student Affairs, Md. Mahbubur Rahman – Deputy Registrar (Admin & Security), along with other esteemed guests.

The festival showcased over 18 stalls, with active participation from various Departmental Clubs, Central Clubs, and Clubs from the Centers, each contributing their festive spirit. These stalls offered a diverse array of traditional pithas, such as ভাপা পিঠা, পুলি পিঠা, ছাইন্না পিঠা, নকশি পিঠা, পাটিসাপটা, ঝিনুক পিঠা, ফুলঝুড়ি পিঠা, নিমপাতা পিঠা, পাকান পিঠা, and more, all beautifully presented and meticulously decorated. The pithas were not only visually captivating but also offered delightful tastes that enriched the experience.

Furthermore, the afternoon cultural performances, including drama and recitation, significantly enhanced the overall value of the event, leaving a lasting impression on all attendees. The festival provided a wonderful opportunity for all to immerse themselves in the rich Bengali tradition and savor the authentic flavors of pitha.
